A day with the Mayor of North Las Vegas

On January 17, 2024, Pamela Goynes-Brown-The first Black female mayor of North Las Vegas, invited 25 girls and their chaperones from 5 North Las Vegas high schools to spend the day with her. The girls were treated to a full tour of City Hall visiting 5-6 departments with staff sharing their function. They also met the Assistant City Manager, Ms. Rebecca Gipson, and the 1st Black female Chief of Police, Jacqueline Gravatt. In addition, the girls were treated to a delicious lunch, a full "chocolate and sweets bar" and beautiful pink roses were given to each of them. The day ended with an invitation to all of the parents, who joined the girls, to observe in chambers a City Council meeting. This event was an extended opportunity from the Second Annual Young Women's Leadership conference on October 14, 2024 at UNLV. Mr. Wes Hall is the CEO and Lead Consultant who fully plans and engages in these events.
